Tregeagle - the Cornish Faust

Why tregeagle.com you may wonder....

It is not my name and no I do not live in the town of the same name, although the hamlet of Tregeagle is, oddly enough, only a few hours up the road from me.

I am a huge fan of the Kneehigh Theatre Company and many years ago was entranced by their amazing production of Tregeagle - the Cornish Faust. I saw it at the Minack and Carn-Marth... I think. They've done it many times since but unfortunately I live on the otherside of the world now.

I suppose it is also because I remember Mr Jenkins the Wendron Primary School janitor telling us the story of Tregeagle whilst we waited for the 534 Western National bus to Crelly. I seem to remember him telling us lots of stories, although thinking back it was probably just a handful. I do remember the story he started telling us about a particularly gory mining disaster. He stopped halfway through because he did not want to upset the younger kids.
