emrys

Em is my youngest sprog. Known as the donkey crippler on account of his talking super-powers.

Cheri and her boys

Here is a pic of my girl with the boys last night in the kitchen...

Zaida called...

Zaida called whilst Em and I were washing up this morning. Em still had his sleepy head on as you can tell by his hair. We went onto make pancakes and ... NOW we shall paint the deck!

Bravery Award

On Sunday Emrys sliced his leg open on a rusty trailer that I was dismantling in the yard. He is now the proud owner of five lovely neat stitches and a bravery award from nurse Jo at Coffs Hospital.

Harry and Em are MAD

Harry and Em were playing the craziest game a week or so ago. It involved lots of paper and rolling around. This was the end result. Not sure what the idea is. If you can figure it out please let me know in the comments. Mad buggers.

Em in his treehouse

Sometimes I'm amazed my camera has not been catapulted into oblivion by Em. He has an interesting camera technique. If you don't mind getting a crick in the neck and suffering motion sickness go ahead and watch the video...

The photo is of Emrys and myself. We were just heading out for a cycle ride last Sunday. We had just bought the new bike the day before. A week later I'm pretty sure he has covered almost 30-40k, pretty good for an eight year old.

Three's the Charm

Hoegaarden #3

Well I just put my third Hoegaarden brew into the bucket. It is now nestling happily behind me like a sleeping baby. Everything went smoothly, this time. The unmitigated disaster I put together last time is now bottled and awaiting it's first victim. Maybe as a pesticide in the garden. The original Hoegaarden attempt is still going under the guise of slug nectar. By which I mean the slugs in our strawberry patch found it so delightful they'd kill themselves in drunken debauchery. I'd keep the jam jars full of the yeasty champagne and the slugs would flock to it like pigeons to a statue.

Work It

Meanwhile the lads have been squad training round the house. Push ups, sofa lifting and the like. This always involves Evan lifting little Emrys up so that he can check out his muscles in the mirror.

Facial Hair Party

We just got back from a fun weekend at Fingal Head. It was the 40th Birthday of my mate Kath. The theme was facial hair. I started growing a flavour-savour and was told I'd be divorced unless it was shaved. I guess beards and me just don't go.

The beach and weather all conjoined for some fabulous snorkeling and larking around in the dive-through cave on the headland. Beautiful little Max was the star of the beach. Click the pics to see. Also Em did an odd little dance which I caught on video.

Just spoke to Ma and Pa on the phone, they have just been out listening to some native North American singers so I thought I'd add link to the very cool video of the Yolngu Dancers doing Zorba the greek, click the vid link below.

Martin Kail

My Pa's mate, Martin, dropped by last week. Em was away so he stayed the night in his room. When Em got home in the morning he was a bit cranky to find a strange english man in his room. Which is why it was tricky to get a photo of them together. However with the magic of pixels I have glued together two rather crap photos just to prove they were in the house at roughly the same time.

Happy 8th Birthday

Emrys woke up very sleepily this morning.

The weekend festival of Emrys had reached it's final day - his eighth birthday.

Now our house is littered with lego and lego boxes... sigh
