Cass and Molly have recently tracked me down which has caused me to hark back. I tend to do that a bit.

I found myself searching for some of the bands I used to listen to with my brother Charlie. We used to go to lots of gigs mainly around north London. The Artrockers', Sausage Machine in and around '91 was fantastic. We used to frequent the cellar of the Whitehorse pub in Hampstead. I remember the polystyrene ceiling tiles being torn off by The Plastic Bertrands(?) during a set. It later moved to the Camden, but the party for me was over. I remember being hypnotised by Stereolab in that crappy little cellar. Charlie was flirting with Harvey at every opportunity. I don't think you stood a chance mate. I'm not sure I can remember half the names... Gallon Drunk, Pram, Moonshake, The Pale, Plastic Bertrands.. and a bunch of others: Andy White, all them fantastic Irish Fleadh/Feile/Finsburty Park lot. The Orb and all that annoying, yet strangely compelling Industrial Ambient. None of them compared to the unjustly forgotten, 'Sultans of Ping'. They were awesome.

On a rainy day I miss pedaling my bicycle to work. So what better way to shrug off the lack of a nice cycle ride than to watch Calum Stirling's refreshing (if slightly pretentious) video, Double Diamond

Sometimes I'm amazed my camera has not been catapulted into oblivion by Em. He has an interesting camera technique. If you don't mind getting a crick in the neck and suffering motion sickness go ahead and watch the video...

The photo is of Emrys and myself. We were just heading out for a cycle ride last Sunday. We had just bought the new bike the day before. A week later I'm pretty sure he has covered almost 30-40k, pretty good for an eight year old.

We just got back from a fun weekend at Fingal Head. It was the 40th Birthday of my mate Kath. The theme was facial hair. I started growing a flavour-savour and was told I'd be divorced unless it was shaved. I guess beards and me just don't go.

The beach and weather all conjoined for some fabulous snorkeling and larking around in the dive-through cave on the headland. Beautiful little Max was the star of the beach. Click the pics to see. Also Em did an odd little dance which I caught on video.

Today was my first day as a househusband. I cleaned the loo and swept the floor. You'd all have been proud of me.

I also went out and bought doughnuts with Em. We dropped the sailing dinghy's rudder off with Cameron of 'Camesco Aluminium Fabricators'. He is going to weld a tiller handle onto it, hopefully before the weekend.

At home I tinkered with my websites a while, then put a couple of Red Morwongs (fish) in the oven. Whilst they roasted the boys and I headed off for a quick snorkel/surf down by the island.
