Australian Daylight Savings - First Sunday in April.

Ocean swim tomorrow. Feeling meh. I blame daylight saving. For everything.

In fact I am going to happily set my clock back an hour on the first Sunday this April and never change it again. I will damn well be early for any organisation that decides to muck about with their clocks.

Happy 8th Birthday

Emrys woke up very sleepily this morning.

The weekend festival of Emrys had reached it's final day - his eighth birthday.

Now our house is littered with lego and lego boxes... sigh

Marine Biologist

Found on a dictaphone:

Our Octopus Overlord

Today was my first day as a househusband. I cleaned the loo and swept the floor. You'd all have been proud of me.

I also went out and bought doughnuts with Em. We dropped the sailing dinghy's rudder off with Cameron of 'Camesco Aluminium Fabricators'. He is going to weld a tiller handle onto it, hopefully before the weekend.

At home I tinkered with my websites a while, then put a couple of Red Morwongs (fish) in the oven. Whilst they roasted the boys and I headed off for a quick snorkel/surf down by the island.

Check out the video Em and I made...

Sliced

Sliced my finger yesterday, did not mention that in my Coffs Sailing post.
Ev reached 15 and lives.
It is nearly 11pm and I am going to bed.

First Day

Who'd a thunk it. From baby bam-bam to awkward teen, Ev has avoided institutionalisation - until today. Here is a pic of him with his 'school' bag as he sets off to enrol in his Visual Arts Course at TAFE.

Lets hear it for autonomy!

Stealing presents

Emrys doesn't read my blog. He is only seven so his Pa's nerdly tinkerings don't matter to him. So, I can tell you all in strictest confidence what I bought him for his upcoming birthday (28/2).

Just playing…

MS Word 2007 has a publish straight to Drupal option which I am testing out. If you'd like to try it out register for an account and read this post for set up instructions:

Addendum.
An important addendum I might add.
I added this via OpenOffice Writer which is a less encumbered word processing application than Word. It did require me to install a small weblog publishing add-on but it works perfectly.
As you can see.

Mon Repos

We just got back from a road trip to Mon Repos and back. We saw a few beautiful Loggerhead Turtles laying eggs and gaggles of baby Loggerheads burrowing their way out of the sand, flapping down the beach and away into the Pacific Ocean. This was the last season of camping at Turtle Sands, ever. We are all really pleased we made it in time.

Hopefully this will be our last trip away this year (yes I know it is January 2010). I love travelling and exploring and would like to do some more of it, right here in Sawtell and surrounding areas.
