Back earlier than I'd planned from a camping trip in Queensland with our old friends, the Brisbane Natural Learners (BNL) Group. We stayed at The Rock, which is a beautiful campsite just east of the Wivenhoe and Somerset Dams in Queensland. Powerlink owns the land and, Mens Wellbeing Inc maintains it.
It was strange and lovely for me to see all those children who I used to see playing in the parks and backyards of Brisbane, grown now into young men and women. They commandeered the lodging house that overlooked the pools. Travelling between the house and the camping grounds on flocks of bicycles, full of energy despite the Queensland heat. We all scrambled beteeen the various pools and swam or leapt in the water. I even met a little fella with my name - only spelt different, Reuben.
On our last night Leonie from the Hollow Log was kind enough to tell us the history of the property. Anyone who could play an instrument, sing or tell a story had a go and we had a fine bush bash with lots of music and dancing.
I had been fighting a cold the whole time and I think we went home at the right time as I am now wheezing and coughing. Sorry to anyone I may have passed it onto.
